I love this and how it's presented. So well done.

There can be no reasonable expectation of privacy in public. Full stop. The auditors movement in my opinion based on a short reading of the practice, is absurd. The example provided in this piece at the library, in my view is uncalled for behavior, interfering with the person doing their job.

If one does't want to be photographed by a journalist on the street where a protest is going on, stay away from it. Regarding the photo of the fellow passing the for lease sign carrying the bag that was included with a series of protest photos could be from anywhere. It is the viewer who must determine its relevance.

Totally agreed that those "auditors" who confront people are going about this the wrong way. The ones who just start filming in public and wait for OTHER people to confront THEM, however, are revealing something worth thinking about, I think!

And, you're exactly right that I'm leaving things up to the viewer to interpret... but I feel like we're losing the idea that art can pose a question rather than answer one... People are confused by the idea that I'd intentionally include an ambiguous image in the set, assuming that I've instead failed to make a statement about what his views are.

That commenter got SO CLOSE... they wrote "What's that photo trying to say?" ... but I can't do ALL the work for you, buddy! You tell me how you interpret it! 😅

"but I feel like we're losing the idea that art can pose a question rather than answer one" For me, if art has an intention, it IS to pose a question! It doesn't always have to, art can just be without doing anything but cause one to think!

Eric, I will segregate out this one person who almost got it in what I’m about to say. There is hope for them yet. However, with those other remarks that you spoke of and shared, never underestimate the stupidity of the American people!
